About the Exhibition
The School for the Arts at the University of Saskatchewan proudly presents AIRING, a selection of curated works by the Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in Studio Art, 2025 graduating class.
As fall approaches, our MFA candidates conclude their degree with a solo thesis exhibition demonstrating the depth of their research practices over the past two years, simultaneously celebrating their accomplishments and emerging vocality, with a strong acknowledgment of their increasing connections to diasporic and local communities.
Though each artist is working in different subject areas, there is a harmony within AIRING. It is a harmony of materiality, chromatics, mourning, memory, and projections of both time and place. The works interrogate what is, what was, and what will become through an infinity of gestures. While the majority of the works in AIRING, have not been included in the individual solo exhibitions; each marks a moment pivotal to the trajectory and experience of the artists in the program.
This exhibition and accompanying text bring the works into relation more fully, but also describe the process of the MFA, its distributed exhibitions, and the role of making through community and research creation.
