Rita McKeough

The Lion's Share

January 21 - April 26, 2014

Kenderdine Art Gallery

Curated by Josphine Mills

For The Lion's Share, Calgary-based artist Rita McKeough will create a simulated restaurant in the Kenderdine Art Gallery with found and constructed objects, kinetics and sound. The installation uses a humorous and dream-like scenario to raise questions about the complexities of our relationship to eating animals, highlighting contradictions and anxieties.

Organized by the University of Lethbridge Art Gallery in collaboration with the Kenderdine Art Gallery, Dalhousie Art Gallery and Doris McCarthy Gallery.
