Mackenzie Browning Artist Talk
October 17, 2025 - October 17, 2025
This artist talk with Mackenzie Browning (alumna MFA 2014) will take place between 12:30-1:30pm, at the Gordon Snelgrove Gallery.
About the Artist
Mackenzie Browning is a Canadian artist whose primary mediums include screen print, book arts, and print based sculpture. Blurring the boundaries between design, craft, and fine art, Mackenzie’s aesthetic is bold, meticulous, and inventive, consistently pushing the technical boundaries of the CMYK printing process. His work often results in intricate, multi layered imagery and installations that provoke reflection on the complexities of the natural world and humanity’s relationship with it.
Deeply influenced by the rural landscapes of his upbringing in Southern Ontario, Mackenzie’s creations delve into the concept of barriers, both physical and emotional. These barriers, whether natural or constructed, serve as metaphors for the boundaries we encounter in our lives. Through his practice, he transforms screen printed imagery and sculptural forms into works that are often architectural in scale, seamlessly integrating structure and narrative. His installations invite viewers to consider their place within the larger ecosystem, fostering a dialogue around connection, separation, and our collective experiences with the environment.
With over 15 years of experience as a practicing artist and printmaker, Mackenzie approaches each project with a focus on innovation, precision, and creative intention. He is dedicated to exploring the intersections of art, craft, and community, regularly engaging with audiences through exhibitions, workshops, and collaborative projects.
