About the Exhibition

My artistic journey explores the intersection of performance art and digital innovation, focusing on the expressive potential of piano deconstruction. Inspired by a lifelong connection with pianos—from childhood memories to a passion for repurposing discarded instruments—I transform piano parts into artistic expressions. Through hands-on experimentation and reflection, I explore how digital tools reshape how we experience and share art today. Platforms like Instagram blur the lines between live performance and documented art, influencing how audiences interact with my work in real-time. Each piece reflects not just physical transformation but also personal growth and resilience. Deconstructing pianos isn't just about materials; it's about exploring themes of identity and change. My art invites viewers to engage deeply, sparking conversations about tradition, technology, and our shared human experiences. Reverberations is more than an exhibition—it's a journey through the unexpected, where old meets new, and each creation tells a story of its own.

About the Artist

Leanne Read is currently pursuing her MFA at the University of Saskatchewan in Saskatoon, SK, specializing in interdisciplinary art with a strong emphasis on sculpture and digital media.
