What is worth collecting? How do we honour what we perceive to have value? Who decides how we classify and display artifacts? What sort of stories do specific collections tell? Forage is an installation that merges natural history with its intrinsic ecological wisdom alongside mass-produced objects I have collected, transformed, and carefully arranged. Selectively choosing the ordinary as the extraordinary subject, the content and layout are driven by an evocatory impulse to intuitively arrange by size, shape, colour, and utility. This work revitalises in me a sense of wonder for the natural world, its beauty, fragility, and complexity and the urgency in caring for it.
