I draw inspiration from the materials most immediately available to me – everyday items that I and others already own. Here’s my question: in ‘what’ I am exploring, how can these found objects become self-portraits by obscuring them visually and conceptually? EJ

Tessier is the town, our town, my town. It’s about me, about resilience, and about my heritage. Population: 22. We still have a mayor and town council. I used a pinhole camera and shot in the cold, in the wind, in the winter. I loaded film, unloaded film and developed film, in complete darkness – alone with my work. EH
